Teknogrout XXL High Early Strength, Flowable Repair Mortar
Product description
It is a cement-based, one-component, non-shrinking, very high strength, flowing type concrete especially developed for rapid concrete casting.
Usage areas
• Ano castings in field concretes,
• Machine rails and foundations,
• Cold conditions and cold storage rooms,
• In the repair of concrete floors exposed to vehicle and pedestrian traffic,
• On runways and aprons that need to be opened to fast traffic,
• It is used on the basis of wind turbines.
Features and Advantages
• It gains strength even at very low temperatures. min. (+)2°C
• It provides ease of application thanks to its fluid feature.
• Since it does not shrink (shrinkage), its usage area is wide.
• It does not decompose and does not vomit water.
• Excellent adhesion and excellent durability.
• As high application thickness as possible with the addition of appropriate sized aggregate.
• Its hardness and wear resistance are high.
• It works monolithically with old concrete as it has very high adherence.
• It can be applied in thicknesses from 10 mm to 150 mm.
• Provides very good reinforcement protection and carbonation resistance.
• It is resistant to freezing and thawing.
Application Instructions
Surface Preparation: Surfaces should be clean, smooth, solid, free of all kinds of dust, oil, dirt, rust, mold oil, detergent, etc. Repair corners should be cut vertically with a minimum depth of 10 mm. In severely damaged rebars or in cases where rebar sections are below the required safety level, it is necessary to replace the rebars for structural reasons. When additional reinforcement is applied, it should be ensured that the reinforcement is covered at least 2 cm thick. Surface ice must be completely melted before TEKNOGROUT XXL is applied. Although TEKNOGROUT XXL can be applied at ambient temperatures as low as (+)2°C, the application surface temperature should be higher than (+)2°C and at most (+)35°C. Absorbent surfaces should be pre-wetted, but water puddles and drops should not remain.
Mixing: Approximately 3.5-4 liters of clean, clear water is poured into a clean container that is free of any substance preventing adhesion. TEKNOGROUT XXL, which is in a 25 kg bag in powder form, is poured into the container filled with water. It is mixed with a low speed mixer until a homogeneous mixture without lumps is obtained. Mixing time is minimum 3 min. should be. The mortar obtained at the end of the process is quickly placed in its place. After the material has reacted, water should not be added and mixed again.
The prepared mixture should be placed in place within 2.5 minutes, depending on the air temperature and the amount of water. TEKNOGROUT XXL should be poured from one side to fill the bottom of the cavities that are surrounded and covered on four sides. Thus, it prevents the formation of gaps by throwing the air out. It can be pushed from one side with a long piece of iron during casting to accelerate the flow.
The casting thickness should be between 10 – 150 mm as the layer thickness at a time. It is recommended to make a preliminary trial if it is to be used in filling cylindrical small diameter anchors.
In applications thicker than 150 mm, 30% of the material can be added with clean gravel no.2. Addition of gravel is done in two ways;
• Gravel is added into the mortar. This process is continued until a homogeneous mixture is obtained.
• Gravel is poured or laid on the floor where the application will be made. Then the mixture is poured onto the prepared TEKNOGROUT XXL. The self-leveling mortar also enables us to obtain a high-strength concrete by wrapping all around the crushed stone.
Application Notes / Limitations
• Reaction times in cement based products are affected by ambient and ground temperatures. Reaction times are shortened in hot environments and longer in cold environments.
• Hot mixing water should be used in cold environments.
• In hot environments, cold mixing water should be used.
• During the application of the product, work clothes in accordance with the rules of work and worker health should be worn, and appropriate glasses and masks should be used.
• The prepared mixture should be placed in place within 5 minutes, depending on the air temperature and the amount of water.
• Do not apply at temperatures below (+)2°C or above (+)35°C.
• Do not apply TEKNOGROUT XXL if the ambient temperature is expected to drop below (+)2°C during application or within 24 hours.
• After the application, it should be protected against adverse weather conditions such as direct sunlight, strong wind, high air temperature (over +35°C), rain and frost. Before TEKNOGROUT XXL is fully cured and hardened, hands should be cleaned with water and detergent.
• Equipment should be cleaned with water immediately after the application, before it hardens. After the product hardens, it should be cleaned by mechanical methods.
