Teknomer 400 Bitumen Liquid Membrane
Product description
Teknomer 400 is a modified bitumen and solvent based, one component, ready to use bitumen solution used against water and moisture. After the evaporation of its solvent, it adheres strongly to the surface on which it is applied, forming a water-resistant film layer.
Usage areas
• On retaining and curtain walls,
• Against ground moisture and leakage waters,
• On reinforced concrete terrace roofs,
• Against precipitation waters on balconies and hidden streams,
• Insulation of galleries, drainage and waste water channels and collectors,
• It is used in the isolation of open utility water tanks and pools against water and humidity.
• It can be applied by dipping, rubbing or spraying to protect metal surfaces (cast, sheet metal, etc.) against corrosion.
• It is used as a primer in bituminous membrane applications on metal surfaces.
Features and Advantages
• Ready to use.
• It is cold applied, does not require heating and thinning.
• It dries fast.
• Forms a seamless and continuous insulation film.
• It has crack bridging feature.
• It has elastromeric feature.
Application Instructions
The surfaces must be clean, smooth, solid, free from all kinds of dust, oil, dirt, rust, mold oil, detergent, etc. If there is segregation in the concrete, damaged and loose parts should be discarded and weak pieces should be removed. If there are cracks or cavities on the floor or wall where the application will be made, they should be repaired with appropriate TEKNOREP repair mortars. Teknomer 400 application should be started after 3-4 days.
Surface Preparation: The surface to be insulated must be dry. If there is a puddle or ponding, it should be removed. Before applying TEKNOMER 400 Primer, if there is dilatation of the structure, first of all, the dilatation must be insulated using TEKNOMER PAH TAPES and TEKNOBOND 400 D. Later, the insulation of dilatations is more difficult and costly.
Application Notes / Limitations
• Foreign materials should not be added.
• It should not be applied under direct sunlight.
• It should be applied in two layers.
• It should not be applied in the rain.
• The product should not be diluted with water.
• Rain, etc., until the newly applied material completes its hardening. must be protected against weather conditions.
• Teknomer 400 is mixed in a clean container that is free from any substance preventing adhesion or in its own container. It is mixed with a low speed mixer until a homogeneous mixture without lumps is obtained. Mixing time should be at least 5 minutes.
• After the application, it should be protected against adverse weather conditions such as direct sunlight, strong wind, high air temperature (over +35 °C), rain and frost. Before the product is fully cured, hands should be cleaned with water and detergent.
• Equipment should be cleaned with Tekno Thinner immediately after the application, before it hardens. After the product hardens, it should be cleaned by mechanical methods.
• The product, whose mixture is completed and ready for application, is applied to the surface with a stiff bristle brush or spraying machines. After the material completes its reaction, the second layer is applied in the vertical direction of the first layer application. Waiting time between coats is at least 1 hour. After the application of the first layer, when there is no trace on the fingers in the manual control, other layers can be passed. If desired, carrier glass fiber can be used as reinforcement between floors.
• Since the product has no UV resistance, heat insulation boards, protection boards, geotextile felt, etc. must be applied after the application. should be covered with
