Teknomer Chamfer Tape 120/70

Product description
It is an elastic, thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) based, polyester mesh carrier, 120/70 mm wide elastic joint insulation tape used for insulation of construction joints.

Usage areas
• Under tiles and ceramics indoors,
• Before applying tiles, ceramics and waterproofing in wet environments such as pools, water tanks, bathrooms, WCs,
• Pipe inlet-outlet application details such as water tank, pool,
• In wet areas, balconies and terraces, between layers of sliding-based waterproofing materials,
• Between the layers of ceramic adhesives,
• It is used to insulate dynamic (moving) cracks and cold joints in floors and curtains.

Application Instructions
Surface Preparation: The application surface must be cleaned of all kinds of substances preventing adhesion such as dust, oil, paint, silicone, curing material, detergent.

Application Notes / Limitations
• Waterproofing material should be chosen suitable for the application area and environmental conditions. Before the waterproofing material is applied, TEKNOMER Chamfer Tape is cut according to the size of the application area and stored ready for application.
• After the first layer of the sliding-based waterproofing material is applied, TEKNOMER Chamfer Tape is laid on cold joints, corners, horizontal-vertical joints and dynamic cracks. In order for the chamfer tape to be embedded in the waterproofing material, the first layer of the insulation should be applied a little more.
• Chamfer tapes can be applied to the concrete surface with ceramic, granite-ceramic adhesives, acrylic adhesives. The joint ends of the chamfer tape are heated with a soldering iron until the PVC softens and then overlapped by min. It is pressed to 10 cm, so that it sticks to each other.
• In this way, a continuous and uninterrupted insulation is provided. Afterwards, a second layer of waterproofing material should be applied on the TEKNOMER Chamfer Tape and it should be covered completely and the insulation should be terminated.
• Make sure that the bevel tape is completely covered after the application. Do not approach with flame. If fire splashes on the product, wash it with water jet and extinguish the fire by applying foam. Not recommended in high temperature environments.
• After the application, it should be protected against adverse weather conditions such as direct sunlight, strong wind, high air temperature (over +35°C), rain and frost. Before the product is fully cured, hands should be cleaned with water and detergent.
